HC Deb 28 July 1936 vol 315 c1321
78. Mr. FOOT

asked the Home Secretary whether any prisoners who have been condemned to death during the last three years have requested that they should be buried according to the rites of their religion; and whether the request was granted?

Mr. LLOYD

Irrespective of any request to that effect made by the prisoner, it is the practice for the chaplain or the appropriate minister of religion to hold a service at the burial.

Mr. FOOT

Is the service in accordance with the rites of the condemned man's religion?
