§ Mr. BUTLERI assume that the hon. Member refers to the proviso to Section 9 of the Payment of Wages Act passed in April, 1936, by the Indian Legislature. I understand the effect is to restrict existing powers of forfeiture and not to confer any new power. The Act received the Assent of the Governor-General on 23rd April.
