HC Deb 14 July 1936 vol 314 cc1841-2
2. Mr. GALLACHER

asked the Secretary of State for War the number of casualties inflicted on British and British Colonial troops during this year; and whether he will issue a complete casualty list to the public Press?

Mr. COOPER

The number is 33, all of which have occurred in Palestine. The course suggested in the last part of the question is unnecessary, since the number of casualties is reported in the communiqués issued by the Palestine Government, while the next-of-kin are notified by the Army Record Office concerned immediately on the receipt of information.

Mr. GALLACHER

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether these British soldiers as well as Jews and Arabs are being sacrified to maintain British power in Palestine?
