HC Deb 13 July 1936 vol 314 cc1640-1
12. Mr. GARRO JONES

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the German Government have indicated any withdrawal of the concrete pacification proposals contained in their memoranda of 7th March, 24th March, and 31st March; and whether, despite the German Government's disinclination to deal by written negotiation with the interrogations of 6th May, he is prepared to make a new approach to the problem of pacification by way of a preparatory conference in accordance with the proposal 21a of the German document of 31st March, and to make inquiries of the German Government and the other Powers to that end?

Viscount CRANBORNE

The answer to the first part of the question is No, Sir. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the terms of the communiqué issued by the United Kingdom, Belgium and French Delegations in Geneva on 3rd July.
