HC Deb 09 July 1936 vol 314 cc1398-9
30. Mr. WALKDEN

asked the Minister of Health whether, in assessing need, a public assistance committee has the approval of his Department in taking into consideration bounty and other allowances received by a son as a member of the Territorial Force?

Sir JAMES BLINDELL

I have been asked to reply. A local authority has no authority to exclude from consideration any resources available for the support of an applicant for relief other than those expressly excepted by statute; and the payments referred to by the hon. Member are not so excepted.
