§ 49. Mr. RITSONasked the Minister of Health whether he will grant another boundaries review in the Durham Rural District Council, with reference to the boundaries of Broom parish in particular?
§ Sir K. WOODNo, Sir. I have already explained to the hon. Member in correspondence that the decision to alter the boundaries of this parish on the lines proposed by the Durham County Council was made by my predecessor after a public inquiry at which the parties interested 607 were fully heard, and that the course suggested in the question is impracticable.
§ Mr. RITSONIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that, in spite of the fact that his predecessor agreed to these things, there has been serious trouble to the authorities mentioned and that there is objection to being transferred to another area which is geographically in a different situation?
§ Sir K. WOODI regret, of course, that there are difficulties, but the hon. Gentleman will realise that after a public inquiry has been held, when all the parties interested have put their case, there really must be some finality.
§ Mr. RITSONWould not the right hon. Gentleman hear them by way of deputation? They are surely entitled to be heard?
§ Sir K. WOODThey have already been heard. The parties have put their case, and a decision has been given.
