HC Deb 01 July 1936 vol 314 c402
57. Mr. DOBBIE

asked the Attorney-General whether any decision has been taken on the subject of setting up a system of official shorthand writing in the High Court of Justice; whether the committee presided over by Mr. Justice Atkinson has concluded its deliberations on the subject; and whether he can make any statement as to the general lines on which this subject is to be handled by the judicial authorities?

The SOLICITOR - GENERAL (Sir Terence O'Connor)

I understand that the committee presided over by Mr. Justice Atkinson hopes to present its report at an early date. It would be premature to reach any decision or make any statement upon the matter until the report has been received.
