HC Deb 26 February 1936 vol 309 cc445-6
52. Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Minister of Transport whether it is proposed to construct any new cycle tracks for the benefit of bicyclists on Scottish roads?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Yes, Sir. Seven miles of cycle tracks have been already proposed by Scottish authorities, and I shall give every encouragement to proposals for the construction of further tracks where these appear to be desirable.

Mr. MESSER

Does the word "bicycle" mean that no tricycles will be allowed on the tracks?

Mr. DUNCAN

Has my right hon. Friend received any representations against cycling tracks from Scottish cycling organisations?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Not so far as my recollection serves me, but I should not be surprised if I had received representations from them.
