HC Deb 17 December 1936 vol 318 cc2612-3
35. Miss WARD

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will consider the desirability of discussing with local education authorities the provision of materials in order that cooking may be adequately taught at domestic science classes?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

This matter has been engaging my attention for some time, and I have prepared a memorandum on the subject, which I hope to discuss with representatives of local education authorities at an early date.

Miss WARD

Am I right in believing that the right hon. Gentleman thinks that cooking materials should be provided in the classes?

Mr. STANLEY

My memorandum sets out the position, which I hope to discuss with the local authorities.
