HC Deb 17 December 1936 vol 318 cc2629-30
70. Mr. MATHERS

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in framing the new legislation to deal with the problems arising in the depressed Areas, he will give the advantage of the provisions to the whole of the county of Linlithgow, and cancel the arrangement whereby the county is divided into two portions, one entitled to special consideration and the other not so provided for?

Mr. WEDDERBURN

The whole problem of the depressed areas is at present under review, and I must ask the hon. Member to await the Government's proposals on the subject.
