HC Deb 15 December 1936 vol 318 c2257
44. Sir SAMUEL CHAPMAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is yet in a position to make any statement with regard to the better preservation and custody of Scottish records?

Mr. ELLIOT

Proposals for the better preeservation and custody of the public records of Scotland (including Sheriff Court records) have been the subject of consultation with the various authorities and Departments concerned; and when the necessary details have been adjusted it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation on the subject.
