§ The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Sir George Penny) reported His Majesty's Answer to the Address [14th December], as followeth:
§ I have received with deep satisfaction the loyal Address of the House of Commons upon My Accession to the Throne.
§ The Queen and I thank you for the expression of your devotion. You may be assured that it is My determination to do all that lies within My power to safeguard the liberties of My People and to promote their prosperity and contentment.
§ I pray that the blessing of Almighty God may rest upon My Reign.
