HC Deb 08 December 1936 vol 318 c1810
9. Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any decision has yet been reached as to the steps which it is is intended to take to supplement the report of the Departmental Committee upon the Cinematograph Films Act; and whether any legislation will be introduced during the current Session

Dr. BURGIN

The recommendations made by the Departmental Committee on Films are being examined by the Government and steps have been taken to obtain the views of the various sections of the industry. Some time must necessarily elapse before any decision can be reached in the matter, and my right hon. Friend cannot now say whether legislation on this subject will be introduced during the present Session.
