HC Deb 30 April 1936 vol 311 cc1079-80
40. Mr. TINKER

asked the Minister of Health the number of widows, whose husbands died before January, 1926, who got the widows' pension but have been deprived of it owing to the youngest child having reached the age that prevents them continuing on pension, and who are still under 55 years of age; and whether it is his intention to remove the ban and let them continue on pension?

Sir K. WOOD

The information asked for in the first part of the question is not available; as regards the second part, the answer is in the negative.

Mr. TINKER

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that one of the features of this case is very obnoxious, and will he be good enough to see whether he can do what he is asked to do in the question?

Sir K. WOOD

That would involve a sum of money.
