§ 50. Mr. DAY
asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence whether any trials have been made, or experiments carried out, by any of the mechanised motor services of His Majesty's Forces which use petrol for the use of petrol distilled from British coal; and whether any satisfactory results have been obtained?
§ The MINISTER for the CO-ORDINATION of DEFENCE (Sir Thomas Inskip)
The answer to both parts of the question is in the affirmative. In addition to trials and experiments carried out, material quantities of motor spirit and other oil products obtained from coal have been purchased by the Service Departments in the ordinary way and used under normal conditions.
