HC Deb 29 April 1936 vol 311 cc906-7
49. Mr. DAY

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government have considered and arrived at any conclusion upon the terms of the questionnaire to be forwarded to Herr Hitler asking for further explanations of his peace proposals; and can he make a statement?

The PRIME MINISTER

His Majesty's Government hope to get into touch with the German Government at a very early date in order, as forecast in the Geneva communiqué of 10th April, to elucidate certain points in the German memorandum of 31st March and the two earlier memoranda of 24th March and 7th March.

Mr. DAY

Will the communication take the form of a formal note or a memorandum?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have nothing to add to the answer I have given.
