HC Deb 29 April 1936 vol 311 c904
47. Mr. LEACH

asked the Prime Minister when the Disarmament Conference, suspended at. Geneva in March, 1933, for a few days, is likely to meet again?

The PRIME MINISTER

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. The Disarmament Conference was not suspended in March, 1933, but continued to meet in 1933 and 1934. As regards future developments I would refer to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to a question asked by the hon. Member for Gower (Mr. Grenfell) on 4th February last.

Mr. LEACH

Will the right hon. Gentleman take measures to get this conference going again so that he may have a chance of saving the appalling expenditure which he contemplates?
