HC Deb 27 April 1936 vol 311 c560
61. Mr. BOSSOM

asked the Minister of Transport the total annual number of trains on the District Railway passing a given point before and after the electrification of the line, respectively; and has a train on this line ever jumped the rails and, if so, at what date?

Captain HUDSON

I am informed by the London Passenger Transport Board that the total number of trains per annum passing Charing Cross Station on the District line in both directions is 362,400 to-day, compared with 164,000 steam trains per annum before the line was electrified. I understand that there has been no case of a passenger train jumping the rails.
