§ 61. Mr. BOSSOMasked the Minister of Transport the total annual number of trains on the District Railway passing a given point before and after the electrification of the line, respectively; and has a train on this line ever jumped the rails and, if so, at what date?
Captain HUDSONI am informed by the London Passenger Transport Board that the total number of trains per annum passing Charing Cross Station on the District line in both directions is 362,400 to-day, compared with 164,000 steam trains per annum before the line was electrified. I understand that there has been no case of a passenger train jumping the rails.
