§ 33. Mr. LEWISasked the Postmaster-General what arrangements have been made for carrying on the work until recently performed by Group-Captain W. H. Primrose as air-mail adviser?
§ Major TRYONThe appointment of Group-Captain Primrose as air-mail adviser was made on a temporary basis for the purpose of liaison between the Post Office and the Air Ministry at a time when extensive development was taking 548 place in the air-mail services. The particular need for this work has now largely disappeared and it has not been necessary to make special provision for carrying it on.
§ Mr. LEWISDoes that mean that the appointment of a temporary air-mail adviser, not a regular member of the Civil Service, has been found to be a failure?
§ Major TRYONNo. Sir. It has not been found to be a failure, but the emergency having passed, the matter is being reconsidered.
