HC Deb 22 April 1936 vol 311 c150
41. Mr. STOREY

asked the Minister of Labour whether it is the intention of His Majesty s Government to adopt the suggestion of the Commissioner for the Special Areas that works of public utility should be undertaken so as to give to unemployed men between the ages of 18 and 21, who have completed a course at an instructional centre, employment for at least one year?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead)

My right hon. Friend is examining, in consultation with the appropriate Departments, the possibility of affording special opportunities of employment for as many as possible of the men to whom my hon. Friend refers.
