Mr. LEWISasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will get into touch with the Government of India forthwith with a view to ascertaining what alterations, if any, are contemplated by them with regard to preferential treatment for British goods in the Indian market when the Ottawa Agreement ceases to operate, in order that the British Government may have time to consider what alterations, if any, they may in consequence desire to introduce 12 with regard to the preferential treatment of Indian goods in the British market?

In any case, there are a number of matters affecting United Kingdom trade interests which His Majesty's Government will wish to raise in any negotiations which may ensue, including matters affecting the preferential treatment of Indian goods in this market.
