HC Deb 09 April 1936 vol 310 cc2934-5
22. Mr. MATHERS

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the housing conditions existing at Hertford Heath and of the delay on the part of the Hertford Rural District Council to carry out their declared intention to build suitable houses in the area to provide for the occupants of condemned houses; and whether he will take steps to cause the position to be remedied without further delay?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

I am aware that there has been some delay in commencing the erection of the houses at Hertford Heath for which arrangements have been made by the district council. I understand that this delay has been due to technical difficulties in the construction of an approach road to the site, but that building operations are expected to start in the next few weeks.
