HC Deb 09 April 1936 vol 310 cc2929-30
10. Mr. A. HENDERSON

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware of the cases where brewers are no longer complying with their own agreement notto let for club purposes premises the licences of which had been extinguished on the ground of redundancy; and whether he will deal with this kind of encouragement to the founding of bogus clubs by the brewers in the preparation of the clubs legislation which he has promised to introduce?

Mr. LLOYD

No particulars of the cases to which the hon. Member refers have been brought to the notice of my right hon. Friend. As regards the second part of the question, I can add nothing to the reply which I gave to the lion. Member for North Camberwell (Mr. Ammon) on 2nd April.

Mr. HENDERSON

If I send the hon. Gentleman particulars of the case, will he take into consideration the recommendation of this body of magistrates?

Mr. LLOYD

Certainly.
