asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the number of persons now employed at the Foreign Office and the number so employed in 1914?

The staff of the Foreign Office and Passport Office, including the staff of messengers, cleaners, etc., amounts to 794, as compared with 189 in 1914.
