HC Deb 08 April 1936 vol 310 c2753
11. Mr. MOREING

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has received any recent reports from His Majesty's Ambassador or His Majesty's Consuls in China as to the measures which are being taken by the Chinese Government to give effect to the recommendations of the Anti-Opium Committee of the League of Nations?

Viscount CRANBORNE

I presume my hon. Friend has in mind the Opium Advisory Committee of the League of Nations, which, so far as my right hon. Friend is aware, has made no formal recommendations to the Chinese Government. His Majesty's Government receive from time to time reports from His Majesty's Ambassador in China on the situation in regard to narcotics in that country and the measures taken by the Chinese Government in respect of it.

Mr. MOREING

Will my noble friend consider the question of placing in the Library the reports from the Ambassador?

Viscount CRANBORNE

I will certainly consider that point.
