HC Deb 06 April 1936 vol 310 c2423
78. Miss CAZALET

asked the President of the Board of Education whether the Government propose to make any change in the scales of contributions to the teachers" superannuation fund, in view of the report of the Government actuary?

The Government Actuary's report is the first valuation of the teachers' pension scheme under the Act of 1925, and having regard to the comparatively short period during which this pension scheme has been in operation, and to the exceptional conditions affecting the rate of teachers' retirements during part of that period, it is not proposed on this occasion to take action with a view to obtaining a revision of the present basis of contributions.
