HC Deb 06 April 1936 vol 310 c2403
30. Mr. T. COOK

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the great increase in the importation of eggs from Poland and Rumania in February of this year compared with the same month in 1935; and whether he has any statement to make on the subject?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Elliot)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I would refer to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Moseley (Sir P. Hannon) on 23rd March, a copy of which I am sending to my hon. Friend.

Sir P. HANNON

When will my right hon. Friend be in a position to give us some definite statement as to the policy of the Government in relation to these enormous imports of eggs into this country in competition with our own?

Mr. ELLIOT

This case is governed, as my hon. Friend knows, by trade agreements.
