HC Deb 02 April 1936 vol 310 cc2135-6
77. Mr. ROSTRON DUCKWORTH

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the statement by the Radium Commission that the present condition of radium supplies in the country presents a serious problem; and whether any steps can be taken to increase the supply of this commodity for the benefit of the hospital?

Sir K. WOOD

My hon. Friend refers, I assume, to the Sixth Annual Report laid before the National Radium Trust by the Radium Commission. I am informed that the Trust have the report now under consideration, but that they are not yet in a position to make a statement as to their proposals.

Mr. DUCKWORTH

Will the Minister consider an application for further grants from the Government in respect of this very important service?

Sir K. WOOD

I think we must await the consideration of the trust.
