§ The PRIME MINISTERI have seen Press reports to the effect that a semiofficial statement in the sense indicated by my hon. and gallant Friend was issued in Berlin some days ago. The views of His Majesty's Government regarding the proposed staff conversations were made clear by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in the course of last Thursday's Debate, and I have nothing to add to what he then said.
