HC Deb 24 October 1935 vol 305 cc319-20
89. Miss HORSBRUGH

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether any special action has been taken by industries in the United Kingdom to follow up the opportunities created by the recent Anglo-Polish Commercial Agreement?

Lieut.-Colonel COLVILLE (Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department)

Yes, Sir. The Federation of British Industries have arranged a mission consisting of a number of important business men, who are leaving on 2nd November in order to collaborate with Polish chambers of commerce and other commercial interests in a fuller examination of the possibilities offered in the Polish market. The Department of Overseas Trade and His Majesty's representative in Warsaw will give the mission all possible support. In addition to this, an increased number of commercial visitors have visited Poland, and a delegation from the Association of British Chemical Manufacturers visited Warsaw in May, 1935, with encouraging results.
