Mr. FLEMING(for Mr. CHORLTON)

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the Government will consider making a grant to the Manchester development committee to assist them specifically in connection with the setting up of new industries in the area they are seeking to develop.

Mr. RUNCIMAN

There are no funds from which such a grant as my hon. Friend suggests could be made.
