§ 19. Mr. REMERasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that there is a shortage of trained hospital nurses; and whether he will consider allocating some portion of public funds in the distressed areas to educate and train a limited number of suitable girls as hospital nurses either in the great hospitals locally or in hospitals in the South of England?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. R. S. Hudson)I am aware that there is some shortage of trained hospital nurses in certain places. I understand, however, that the shortage is not due to any lack of training facilities, as in the majority of hospitals the training is provided free.
