§ 33. Mr. THORNEasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that Messrs. L. B. Holliday and Company, of Huddersfield, chemical manufacturers, are Government contractors; that they are not paying the recognised trade union rates, and are not observing trade union conditions of employment for chemical workers agreed by the heavy chemical joint industrial council; and that they were part of the chemical national joint industrial council at the time of the last advance in wages that was granted to the heavy chemical workers; and whether he intends taking any action in the matter?
§ Mr. COOPERI understand that this firm hold a contract with the Admiralty. If definite particulars are submitted to that Department of the wages paid by the firm and those which are claimed to be payable under the Fair Wages Clause, the complaint will be investigated.
