HC Deb 09 May 1935 vol 301 c1130
35. Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland under what authority the police declared that no picketing must take place in the recent Richmond Park Laundry strike within one mile of the laundry?

The SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Sir Godfrey Collins)

As stated in my reply to the hon. Member's question of the 7th instant, no restriction was imposed in regard to the distance from the laundry at which lawful picketing was to take place, and I am informed that in actual fact the pickets were in daily attendance at the laundry gates. In the circumstances, the hon. Member's question does not arise.
