§ 62. Mr. MANDERasked the Postmaster-General whether it is the practice of his Department, in placing contracts, to proceed on the basis that firms to which Government contracts are assigned shall be required to observe the principles of the fair-wages resolution on their private work, in accordance with the terms of paragraph 4 of the letter from the Ministry of Labour, of 26th June, 1934, to the Trade Union Congress general council; and whether that has been and will be carried out in respect of contracts in the cooperage trade in the Potteries and elsewhere?
