§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe total gross surplus, before deduction of income tax, of electricity undertakings, in the year 1932–33, was, in the case of public authorities, £20,288,337, and in the case of companies £13,245,773, and the average price per ton of coal and coke used in generating stations was about 15s. 3d. Corresponding figures for the year 1933–34 are not yet available.
