HC Deb 14 March 1935 vol 299 c571
79. Mr. WHITE

asked the hon. Member for Bosworth (Sir W. Edge) as representing the Charity Commissioners, whether the revenue from the recording of deeds under the Settled Land Act, 1925, is in accord with the estimate; and whether it will be necessary to introduce a supplementary estimate this year?

Mr. BLIND ELL (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. The revenue received by the Charity Commissioners from the recording of deeds under the Settled Land Act, 1925, is in excess of the estimate, and it will not be necessary to introduce a supplementary estimate this year.

Sir PERCY HARRIS

Why is not the hon. Member for Bosworth (Sir W. Edge), to whom the question is addressed, answering the question?

Mr. BLINDELL

My hon. Friend the Member for Bosworth (Sir W. Edge) has been indisposed for a considerable period, but I am happy to inform the hon. Baronet that he is likely to return to his duties in the immediate future.
