asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, in view of the exemplary conduct of the British contingent of the Saar international force, His Majesty's Government propose to strike a medal to perpetuate the memory of their special service?

61. Mr. MANDER

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he will consider the advisability of commemorating the service of British troops in the Saar by striking a special medal to be awarded to every soldier of the contingent?

Mr. HACKING

There is no proposal to award a medal to our troops for service in the Saar.

Mr. ADAMS

Has this not been one of the most beneficent expeditions in history?
