§ 60. Sir W. BRASSasked the Minister of Transport whether any special watch is kept on the various traffic-control lights in the Metropolitan area, in order to see at what time of the day or night they should commence and cease operation according to the density of traffic?
§ Captain A. HUDSONYes, Sir. In the Metropolitan area traffic light signals are kept in operation throughout the 24 hours of the day at junctions where the mechanism available enables unnecessary delays to be avoided, or where the continual operation appears desirable on traffic grounds. In other cases operation ceases at different hours according to the requirements of the particular locality.
