§ Mr. E. BROWNI regret that comparable statistics are not available as to the numbers of persons employed in production and in the distributive trades, respectively, in 1914 and at any recent date. For the period from 1923 to 1934 statistics showing the changes in the numbers of insured persons in employment in each of 100 industry groups for which figures are available, including the distributive trades, will be found on pages 432–5 and 458–9 of the issue of the Ministry of Labour Gazette for December, 1934.
