§ 55. Mr. H. STEWARTasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made with the consideration of the proposal to set up some form of machinery to negotiate county wage rates for farm servants in Scotland?
§ Sir G. COLLINSA scheme for promoting collective agreements regarding agricultural wages in Scotland which had been under discussion for some time was considered by the Central Executive Committee of the National Farmers' Union of Scotland on the 9th May when it was agreed by a large majority that the scheme should be circulated to the branches of the Union for their consideration. I understand that the scheme has been circulated with a recommendation that it should be adopted, and that the replies of the branches are now being received.
