HC Deb 25 June 1935 vol 303 cc929-30
19. Mr. T. SMITH

asked the Secretary for Mines what progress is being made with regard to the co-ordination of minimum prices between various districts for export purposes?

Captain CROOKSHANK

I am informed that discussions are proceeding between the various districts regarding the relative levels of minimum prices for export.

Mr. SMITH

Can the hon. and gallant Member say whether the recent legal decision in the case of Holt v. The Midland Amalgamated District has had any adverse effect on bringing about a co-ordination of prices?

Captain CROOKSHANK

I cannot say. The hon. Member has asked me what progress has been made with regard to the co-ordination of minimum prices. The discussions are proceeding, but I cannot say what transpires because the Department is not at present a party to the discussions.
