HC Deb 24 June 1935 vol 303 c788
12. Brigadier - General CLIFTON BROWN

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has yet received the report of the Milk Reorganisation Commission or, if not, when does he expect them to report?

Mr. ELLIOT

The Milk Reorganisation Commission are still engaged in taking evidence from a large number of organisations in England and Scotland, and it is too early yet to say when their report may be expected.

Brigadier-General CLIFTON BROWN

May I ask whether in view of the fact that new milk contracts must be made by next October and the necessity of amending the present scheme and abolishing some of the grievances before that date, he can urge on the report of the Commission?

Mr. ELLIOT

I do not wish to suggest that the commission is not directing its attention very keenly to these important problems.
