21. Miss WARDasked the Secretary of State for Air whether it is his intention to consider designs for machines submitted by persons outside the present Government suppliers; and whether, in the event of acceptance, any stipulation will be imposed as to the area of manufacture?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERAs regards the first part of the question, the Air Ministry will be prepared to consider designs put forward from any responsible source. As regards the second part, I do not think I could give an answer to a hypothetical question on a matter which could only be dealt with in a concrete case in the light of all the circumstances.
Miss WARDMay I have an assurance that, if a concrete case in relation to depressed areas is put forward, it will have the unprejudiced consideration of my right hon. Friend?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTEROf course, I will certainly promise to give unprejudiced consideration to any proposal.
