HC Deb 05 June 1935 vol 302 c1864
61. Mr. STOREY

asked the Postmaster-General on what grounds his Department requires payment for Division bells in hon. Members' houses for 12 months in advance?

Sir E. BENNETT

The payments in question are small, and I gather that hon. Members generally prefer not to be troubled with the account more than once a year. If, however, any hon. Member would like his account rendered quarterly, I shall be happy to arrange for this to be done.

Mr. STOREY

Are we to infer from the fact that the Post Office is now sending out accounts for the ensuing 12 months that the Postmaster-General does not anticipate a general election during that period?

Sir E. BENNETT

This scarcely arises out of the question on the Paper.
