HC Deb 29 July 1935 vol 304 c2301
55. Brigadier-General NATION

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what has been the number of British (white) and foreign settlers that have entered Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika during the last 10 years?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. Malcolm. MacDonald)

The statistics at my disposal do not enable me to answer this question with precision. I am communicating with the Governors concerned, and will inform my hon. and gallant Friend of the result.

Brigadier-General NATION

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the entry of foreigners into these Colonies is increasing or decreasing at the present time?

Mr. MacDONALD

I am afraid I shall have to wait until I get the information for which I am sending.
