HC Deb 25 July 1935 vol 304 c1983
2. Sir FRANK SANDERSON

asked the Minister of Labour the total number of men, women, and boys partially employed and in receipt of unemployment benefit?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Mr. Ernest Brown)

As the reply includes a Table of figures, I will, if I may, circulate a statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the statement:

The table below shows the number of men, women, boys and girls, registered at Employment Exchanges in Great Britain at 24th June as temporarily stopped, who were claimants for insurance benefit:

Men, aged 18–64 237,267
Women, aged 18–64 81,642
Boys, aged 16 and 17 5,403
Girls, aged 16 and 17 3,210

The figures include a small number of persons whose claims for benefit were disallowed by the Statutory Authorities.
