HC Deb 25 July 1935 vol 304 c2004
39. Mr. GARDNER (for Mr. THORNE)

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he can give any information in connection with the accident to a Royal Air Force lorry at a level crossing, Fort Gomer, Gosport; and whether any of the Royal Air Force men with the lorry were injured?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

I regret that I can give little information at present to supplement what has appeared in the Press, the official investigation being as yet incomplete. The accident was a collision between a 30-cwt. lorry, belonging to the Royal Air Force station, Lee-on-the-Solent, and a goods train locomotive. The lorry driver was thrown clear and suffered some bruises. The second man on the lorry was trapped for about 30 minutes and sustained injuries which necessitated his admission to hospital, but which I am glad to say are not regarded as serious.
