HC Deb 25 July 1935 vol 304 cc2008-9
47. Mr. BAILEY (for Mr. MACQUISTEN)

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the representations that have been made to him as to the adverse effect upon the long-term interests of Lancashire of the proposals contained in the Cotton Spinning Industry Bill, he can now state whether it is still the intention of the Government to proceed further with the Measure before the Summer Recess or during the current Session?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I would refer my hon. and learned Friend to the statement as to business made by the Prime Minister yesterday.

Mr. BAILEY

Arising out of the comprehensive answer given by the right hon. Gentleman, can he say whether such representations have, in fact, been made to his Department?
