asked the Home Secretary what action he proposes to take as a result of the communication he has received from the chairman of the juvenile court panel in Manchester with respect to the remand home and the long period that some cases have been detained there?

On receipt of the chairman's letter, my right hon. Friend consulted the Manchester Education Committee, who are responsible for the remand home, and he was assured that the provision of further facilities is receiving their immediate consideration.
